The accreditations and recognitions of the MPA NRW
The MPA NRW operates as a testing and calibration laboratory as well as an inspection and certification body.
Special focal points (emphases) are the fields of construction safety and radiation protection.
The MPA NRW has and maintains the necessary accreditations, recognitions and notifications for the services it offers.

The testing laboratory and the calibration laboratory as well as the poduct certification body of the MPA NRW are flexibly accredited. Information on recognitions and notifications of the MPA NRW
The product certification body of the MPA NRW is notified according to the EU Construction Products Regulation (NB 0432) and therefore authorised to act as an independent third party for construction products according to harmonised technical regulations.

The MPA NRW is recognised as a PÜZ body for many products and types of construction in accordance with the state building regulations (NRW02).

The Central Office of the Federal States for Safety Engineering (ZLS) has authorised the MPA NRW to award the GS mark including testing activities for storage facilities within the scope of the Product Safety Act.
The testing laboratory for safety glass is designated by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) as a technical service for approval tests for motor vehicle safety glazing.
The MPA NRW is a member of the VMPA - Association of Materials Testing Institutes. The members are recognised for their proven competence and continuous improvement of their services. Fulfilment of the VMPA criteria, in particular with regard to independence and impartiality as well as outstanding technical expertise, is confirmed by a certificate.

Category A (previously level 3) includes the extension of the scope of accreditation by standardised or equivalent test methods with different issue dates within a defined test area.
Category B (previously level 1) includes category A and the extension of the scope of accreditation by standardised or equivalent test methods within a defined test scope.
Category B includes - as far as applicable - new specifications for test objects, provided that these can be determined with the procedure within the test scope.
Category C (previously level 2) includes categories A and B as well as the addition of modified, further developed and newly developed test methods (including in-house methods) within a defined test scope to the scope of accreditation..
