Official measuring point for 5 federal states

The measuring point for personal doses in the MPA NRW as an official measuring point is responsible for approximately 12,000 companies in the federal states Bremen, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The other federal states are attended by other measuring points.

Persons that can be exposed to ionising radiation at their place of work and are deemed as “professionally exposed to radiation” according to the Radiation Protection Ordinance and the X-Ray Ordinance are provided with personal dosimeter probes by the measuring point. The probes are usually exchanged once a month and evaluated in the measuring point. The results are communicated to the client. Suitable dosimeters for the various kinds of radiation and the respective use of ionising radiation are available.

Environment dosimeters are also offered

The measuring point also offers special dosimeters/dosimeters of the surrounding area that are used for monitoring the surrounding area of nuclear plants (according to REI 1993) in order to determine the local dose.
