Durability and functional tests: 200,000 times "opened and closed"
A smoke control door in a public building is opened and closed about 200,000 times in its approximately 20 years of service life. Even after many years of service it still has to be able to close automatically. This is demanded by the building regulations. In the testing laboratory of the MPA NRW these 20 years shrink to only a few weeks by acceleration. The door mounted in the testing frame is opened and closed every second twenty-four hours a day. At the end of the test it is expected that the door still meets all demands on smoke and fire protection.
The testing devices are variable and enable testing fire and smoke control doors in all dimensions.
